1. Our Role as a Data Processor
KrypAcademix provides a digital infrastructure platform for educational institutions. Your School is the Data Controller of your personal information. KrypAcademix acts strictly as a Data Processor. We only process personal data on behalf of, and in accordance with the instructions of, your educational institution.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a seamless school operations experience. The types of data we collect include:
Account & Identity Data: Full name, email address, phone number, school code, role (e.g., Parent, Teacher), roll numbers, and class assignments.
Device & Usage Information: Device type, operating system, IP address, and app usage logs to help us secure and improve the Platform.
Hardware Sensor Data (When Permitted):
*Camera/Photos:* Only accessed when you explicitly scan a QR code (Assets/Gate Passes) or upload a required photo (Home Visits, Profile Pictures).
*Microphone:* Only accessed when using the Voice-to-Text feature for Homework Diaries or Meeting Minutes. Audio is processed on-device where possible.
*Location Data:* Accessed strictly for specific modules (e.g., Staff Geofenced Attendance check-ins, Live Bus Tracking). Location data is not tracked continuously in the background unless you are actively broadcasting a bus route.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to deliver the Platform's functionality, including:
* Authenticating your identity and enforcing role-based access control.
* Delivering push notifications, direct alerts, and broadcast messages from the school.
* Processing and tracking school operations like leave approvals, PTM bookings, and fee reconciliations.
* Improving platform security, preventing fraud, and debugging technical issues.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
Your data is shared strictly in the following circumstances:
* Within Your Institution: Your data is visible to authorized personnel within your school (e.g., Teachers can see their students' academic data; Principals can see staff attendance).
* Service Providers: We may share minimal technical data with trusted cloud hosting and infrastructure partners (e.g., secure database hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements.
* Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government request (e.g., UDISE+ reporting requirements mandated by local education boards).
5. Data Security
We implement robust, industry-standard security measures, including:
* Data encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
* JWT-based session management and secure local storage.
* Optional Biometric App Lock integration to prevent unauthorized physical access to the app on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
KrypAcademix is designed to be used by educational institutions and parents. Student accounts are strictly provisioned and monitored by the school and linked to verified parent accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental and institutional consent.
7. Your Rights
Because your school is the Data Controller, requests to access, modify, correct, or delete your academic or demographic data must be directed to your school's administration. We will promptly assist the school in fulfilling these requests.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
